Nexus Energy Park (Nexus) is a new 1,950 acre industrial park ideally located for chemical and energy projects. Close to the Baton Rouge chemical corridor, but without the financial and environmental barriers of an overdeveloped area, Nexus provides access to critical infrastructure, services, and feedstocks in a region with a supportive community and large, stable workforce
Nexus is located one mile from Bobcat Gas Storage, a 29 bcf natural gas storage hub and pipeline facility owned by Spectra Energy
Nexus Energy Park is the newest development in St. Landry Parish from a team with a long track record of success.
Members of the Nexus team first created Bobcat Gas Storage, an 84 acre multi cycle natural gas storage hub and pipeline facility on the Port Barre Salt dome. FERC permitted for 46 bcf of storage, Bobcat began commercial operations in 2008 and was sold to Spectra Energy in 2010, and continues to be a world class facility with positive community relationships.
The next project, Hazelwood Energy Hub, was designed to add liquids storage to the dome. The first phase of Hazelwood includes four salt dome caverns for storage and blending crude. Additional phases, including storage for distillates and natural gas liquids, are currently in development. The development team from Bobcat and Hazelwood are now proud to bring Nexus Energy Park to market.
